Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. Known for her work in film and television from the mid-80s onwards, she has received various accolades like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett originates from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett's mother had split from her father at around five. Her younger sister then relocated to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett when she was in high school watched John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she made the decision to pursue acting. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and an honorary doctorate (1983), from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. The Yale School of Drama conferred an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett in the year 1980. She was a student at the school following: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for seventh graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th & 9th grades in addition to Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett is currently working on one of the leading characters as Ramonda in the action adventure film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
